As we return to the Academy for another exciting year. Please take a moment to read this prayer for returning to school.

For all that happened last year,

Lord God, we give thanks.

For the time away on holiday,

Lord God, we give thanks.

At the start of this new school year,

Lord God, we give thanks and ask for your help.

For new class, new teachers, new friends,

Lord God, we give thanks.

For new opportunities and new challenges,

Lord God, we give thanks.

For our wonderful, happy school

Lord God, we give thanks.

If we find something difficult to understand,

Lord God, we ask for your help.

If we fall out with one another,

Lord God, we ask for your peace.

If we are happy, joyful, confused, sad or worried,

Lord God, sit with us and bring us your love.

Help us to work hard and do our best,

Help us to be patient and gentle with one another,

Help us to be kind and fair in all we do,

Help us to be forgiving and filled with compassion for others,

Help us to look out and see the world around us,

Lord God, we thank you for all that this school year will bring,

Walk with us through the ups and downs,

Dance with us in the joyful times and

Carry us in the moments of challenge.
