Every year in November, the Academy collects gifts and toys for the Shoebox Appeal for Operation Christmas Child, a scheme organised by the Samaritan’s Purse charity. The students in each Mentor group were set the task of putting together a range of items which will be sent on to children in developing countries as a Christmas gift.

The results of this appeal was fantastic. As can be seen in the photo, a group of some of our Student Leaders and Ambassadors are behind 2 large classroom tables absolutely covered in beautifully decorated shoe boxes crammed with gifts. The contents covered items for a chosen age range (2-4 years, 5-9, and 10-14) and also needed to specify that they were for girls or boys.

Books, stationery, fluffy toys, sweets and games were just some of the lovely gifts which demonstrated the generosity of our students. Thank you to all who donated and by doing so, have endeavoured to make another child's Christmas a happy and fun event.
