If you see Amelia Green this week please congratulate her for becoming St Augustine Academy’s first ever Olympic weightlifting National Champion this weekend at a major national event in Harrogate. 

Already the under 15 British age group champion, Amelia entered ranked third but exceeded all expectations getting personal bests for each lift. At the end of the competition, everyone was overjoyed to be able to congratulate her as the new champion.

Amelia is a very conscientious student who is really committed to her weightlifting and attends every training session. During lockdown, she even continued with virtual online training. Currently, she is doing extra training as she’s on the GB Development Pathway to hone her skills even further.
