The Art department at the Academy is well known for the number of competitions that are available to our students to to showcase their work. Some are set by external organisations such as the Maidstone Museum and others  - such as our recent 'Autumn' competition - are just for our students in the Academy. 

The 'Autumn' competition was for a piece of artwork inspired by the season and was to be created using art and design mediums of the student's choice.

Choosing the 3 winning entries was difficult as there were many lovely artworks but the 3 prizewinners were:

1st - Jensen McCarthy - with his picture of pumpkins

2nd - Kate Dale Crocker - with a symmetrical collage of dried leaves interspersed with painted 'boxes' of trees in autumnal colours

3rd - Pia Moorekite - with a colourful drawing of a solitary autumnal tree casting a shadow on the surrounding grass.
