Last week, Year 7 students had a special visit in their RE lesson from 3 representatives from local religious groups.

Jackie Grant represented the Bahai religion which believe in the oneness of humanity and devotes themselves to the abolition of racial, class, and religious prejudices.

Maidstone Methodist Church was represented by Bonni-Belle Pickard while Nicky Younosi wanted to inform everyone about the Muslim Faith.

The lesson was based on the trilogy of Abrahamic religions:  Judaism, Christianity and  Islam. In Islam, the Bible  and Torah are considered  as part of the Quran and Christ has a recognised  place in Islam.

Culture plays a part in celebrations, Christmas, too, has these cultural links. They discussed how different denominations of Christianity celebrate Christmas including whether it’s a truly a religious event in today's society.
