BackSix - the Musical
Posted on: 14th Mar 2023Six Theatre Trip
What happens when you get 6 teachers, 47 kids, 1 bus and London Town on a dismal winter afternoon? Mrs Michell reports……….
Oodles of fun and smiles galore that’s what!
Think you know the six Wives of Henry VIII? Think again…
“The crowning glory of the West End, Broadway and beyond, history was about to get over-throne in the homegrown hit musical sensation, SIX, live at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, we lost our heads as we experienced the Tudor Wives’ lives as they turned back the clock and took to the stage to reclaim their crowns and retell their stories of love, loss and the infamous ex they all had in common. Aragon, Boleyn, Seymour, Cleves, Howard and Parr, backed by their fiercely all-female band, the Ladies in Waiting, retold the sassiest story in British Her-story.
The students were impeccably behaved, even to the point that the ushers commented on how beautifully polite they were.
We had an afternoon tea on the coach and ice-cream in the show…the big kids looked after the little ones but I would imagine everyone’s real highlight was the karaoke contest on the bus on the way home!"
Special mention to Mrs James on the wheels of steel giving us an impromptu DJ set on the M25 which had the students roaring with happiness!!
A supersonic St Augustine day out!"
