Coronation Celebration.

Last week St Augustine Academy took part in a week long Coronation Celebration, to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The school was decorated to be ‘Fit for a King’ and a week of fun activities were created for all years to get involved in and it proved to be a great success.

Everyday mentor groups had the chance of winning class prizes by taking part in ‘Coronation Celebration’ themed activities, there was also an around the school treasure hunt that even the year 11’s were spotted running around collecting clues to win a prize!

On Friday, students who are in the Cadets, Scouts, Girl Guides and Boys Brigade were allowed to wear their finery to school to be a shining example of service in our community, we are very proud of our students who take part in these outside associations and I must say, they all looked very smart indeed!

To finish the week, we held a grand raffle where a commemorative teapot was the star prize, KS3 and KS4 had a lunchtime cupcake giveaway in the canteen and a ‘royally themed’ cinema in the main hall.

A huge 'Thank you' to Mrs Hayes who helped me organise this event!

We had a fabulous week of activities which was followed by a wonderful Coronation weekend, we hope you enjoyed it much as we did.
