Report from Miss Michelle,

Today we took 72 Year 8 students to the Trench system in Detling at the Kent County Showground.  It was a super day, the students had mini talks on Medicine in World War One, Dressing Tommy, and the Homefront.  This links in with the module we have just studied on the Great War.  Some of the students gave the specialists a real run for their money with their superstar knowledge!

We then all went down to the trench system that has been meticulously built to mirror real trenches in the Ypres Salient.  The students got to walk a few steps in a tommies shoes and really see what things were like in the trenches over 100 years ago.

A beautiful day had by all!
