BackPrayer Space visit
Posted on: 22nd May 2024"From 22nd-26th April, our Chapel was transformed into a beautiful Prayer and Reflection Space by the wonderful Family Trust. This is something we enjoy each year as an Academy, giving both students and staff a space to reflect and pray if they wish to.
This year the students shone! Classes from all year groups attended the space and were just delightful! The messages written and the thoughts that went into some of the responses to the theme of ‘Peace’ were stunning. I asked The Family Trust if we could keep some of the ribbons that students attached their memo’s onto and they happily said yes. These are now part of a beautiful chapel display.
Academy Principal Mr Ball was particularly impressed: “I have already expressed my feelings on what a positive experience this was for all those students who entered the Chapel. It was really humbling to read all the comments, children are brutally honest and see the world in a much more innocent and straightforward way than we do as adults at times. It is lovely to have the chance to reflect, and I know the students valued this time. As ever, thank you to Mrs James for arranging this opportunity and for continuing to progress St Augustine Academy’s Christian Ethos and character.”
The Academy was also lucky enough to receive this feedback from The Family Trust: “All the team have enjoyed our time with your fabulous students. They have been polite, respectful, kind, inquisitive, thoughtful and generally all round absolutely brilliant.” We are very proud of how our students used this opportunity and the maturity and thoughtfulness they showed. Bring on next year!
