I am please to announce that St Augustine Academy has been awarded a bronze award as part of the Woodland Trust's Green Tree Schools programme. Sustainability is big focus of our Student Voice team at present and this award underlines our commitment to student-led environmental initiatives.

Students learn about the importance of trees through the curriculum they study in geography and science, and assemblies have further highlighted the importance of environmental awareness. Furthermore, Student Voice reps recently took part in a tree-planting initiative on land to the front of our school site. Their aim is to create a sustainable garden, maintained by students, to improve not only the sustainability of ingredients used in food technology lessons but also to promote outdoor activity and mental wellbeing.
